This document presents the strategic direction of the Africa-EU Renewable Energy Cooperation Programme (RECP) that is conceived as an open-ended framework for cooperation between the two continents to increase the use of renewable energy on the African continent. Accelerating the deployment of renewable energy technologies will meet multiple objectives, notably: increasing energy access; improving energy supply security and environment protection.
